Professor B.K. Misra did his B. Sc. Mechanical Engineering in 1972, M. Tech., Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur in 1974 and PhD in 1994 from IIT, Kanpur. He is life member of ISTE, India. Professor Misra is well know educationalist and researcher and has vast experience of nearly 36 years. He guided numerous  PG Thesis and  has several research publications in International/National journals of repute. His field of specialization in Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing.

Professor B.K. Misra started his career in the year 1974 as Senior Scientific Officer in one of Missile Division of DRDO and later in 1977 joined Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur in 1977 as faculty in Mechanical Engineering Department.  He served there as Professor  till April, 2012. During this tenure he held several Administrative positions and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department. Under his leadership DRDO project in CARS scheme was successfully completed. Professor Misra has been consultant in the field of Design to several government  organizations and private industries.
